2nd October 2015 Dear Parent/Carer Re: Joseph Swan Academy Parent Governor vacancy We currently have a vacancy for a Parent Governor at Joseph Swan Academy. Parent Governors are elected by the parents/carers of registered students at the Academy for a period of 4 years. Our Academy benefits from a highly effective and active Governing Body who are involved in all aspects of the work of the Academy. We would welcome expressions of interest from all of our parents/carers who wish to play a key strategic role in ensuring our Academy continues to improve. Yours faithfully

Cares about improving children’s educational achievement Wants to work as part of a team and can value the contribution made by different people Is willing to listen, learn, be supportive and ask questions Has a feel for what is important to people and, as a parent yourself, be understanding of other parents’ concerns Has enthusiasm Can commit their time and energy
