21st September 2017 Dear Parent/Carer Warkworth As part of our Year Eight Geography work we study settlements. This provides us with an ideal opportunity to practise the skill of field work, which is now a national requirement at Key Stage 3. We will be visiting the settlement of Warkworth in Northumberland to study a variety of topical issues. Pupils will complete a questionnaire and study the site of the settlement. On the day of the field trip, pupils will need to bring: A packed lunch Warm clothes Sturdy shoes Waterproofs The trip will spread over three days with different classes going on each day. Tuesday 31st October 8 KE / 8 HY st Wednesday 1 November 8 OR / 8 FA Thursday 2nd November 8 BN / 8 VG The school now operates an online payment system and you will receive a text explaining how to pay using this method. If for any reason you cannot pay online, cheques are accepted, payable to Valley Gardens Middle School. Please complete the reply slip below and return to school by Monday 16th October. A voluntary contribution of £5.00 would be appreciated to cover the cost of coach hire and insurance.
