November 2016 Dear Parent/Carer, Year 11 Information Evening We would like to invite you to a Year 11 information evening on Wednesday 9 th November 2016. This is an opportunity to get information about the year ahead and advice as to how you as parent/carers can support your child at this important time. During the evening you will receive information about key dates, details of the exam routes your child is taking, revision opportunities and information on how to use GCSEPod, which provides extensive online revision support for your child. You will also be able to order revision guides and calculators as well as being able to have conversations with key members of staff regarding any queries that you may have. We hope to make this evening as useful and as supportive as possible and we hope that you can attend. Representatives from Barnsley College and other local FE providers will be in present, giving you an opportunity to find out about GCSE entry requirements for your child’s desired courses. The evening begins at 6.30pm and should run to approximately 7.30pm. Curriculum Team Leaders from Science, Maths and English will be available, as will the pastoral team if you have a personal query or issue.
