24/10/17 Dear Parent/Carer, Year 11 Parents’ Evening: Thursday 30th November 2017 Online appointment booking
I am writing to inform you of the forthcoming parents evening for year 11 students. Parents evening is on Thursday 30th November, 3.45pm-6.30pm. This is obviously a very important evening which will provide you with an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and the results for any recent tests. Information will also be regarding the new 9-1 levels which have replaced the old A* - C grading. We do expect all parents and carers to attend the evening as detailed in the parent/school partnership agreement you signed when your child started at Hyde Community College. If you are unable to attend on the evening, we will contact you shortly afterwards in order to arrange an appointment to meet with the Head of Year 11 or a member of the Senior Leadership Team. The school now uses an online appointment booking system which allows you to choose your appointment times and which teachers you wish to see. I have attached instructions on how to log onto the system. Please visit: https://hyde.parentseveningsystem.co.uk (The system will be open from Wednesday 1st November). If you do not have access to the internet or email, please contact the school reception and we will be happy to arrange appointments for you. I am also enclosing information on a phone application called MyEd. Once you register on this you can view your child’s progress, grades, reports and attendance on your phone and receive any school letters/communication. Finally Mr Johnson has also provided some information on growth mindset which is a philosophy central to our teaching at Hyde, please take time to read this.
