CARROTS NUTRITION BENEFITS

STORING

• Vitamin A: helps with seeing at night and helps immune system • Low in calories: helps prevent weight gain

• Remove tops and refrigerate carrots in a plastic bag for up to 2 weeks. • If dirt is present, rinse off carrot surface and dry completely before storage.



CLEANING • Rinse the carrots under cold running water before eating.

PREPARING • Carrots are great raw with vegetable dips, hummus and low-fat dressing. • Add sliced or grated carrots to any salad for added crunch and color. • If carrots are thick, cut them in half lengthwise; if not, leave them whole. Slice carrots in 1 ½ inch thick slices. Toss carrots with oil and your favorite seasoning. Then roast at 400°F until slightly soft.
