Course Description: Computerized Business Applications is a two-semester course designed to prepare students with an introduction to business applications that are necessary to live and work in a technological society. Emphasis is given to hardware, concepts, and business uses of applications. The business applications covered are word processing, database, spreadsheet, telecommunications, presentation, and Web page design. Upon successful completion, students will be able to test and receive industry standard Microsoft Office Specialist certification in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Students will also be able to register for concurrent college credit with Southern Arkansas University Tech. Conference: Web Page:

Supplies Needed:

Notebook– 2” 3-ring binder with vinyl front pocket; pen; notebook paper; Table of content divider tabs—if you can’t find them just get divider tabs Label them: Agenda/Notes, Vocabulary, Work/Projects, Student Reflections, Grading Log; and one blank CD for the end of the year. (Students with last names beginning A-K bring one bottle of hand sanitizer; students with last names beginning L-Z bring one box of Kleenex.)

90-100 =A 80 - 89 =B 70 - 79 =C 60 - 69 =D 0 - 59 =F

Absences:

Absence and tardy guidelines will be followed as stated in the handbook. You will be responsible for completing all missed assignments.

FBLA:

Students are encouraged to join Future Business Leaders of America—recognized nationally. Dues are $14 and must be turned in no later than August 30th.

Class Rules:

Be on time 

Be in your seat ready to work when the tardy bell finishes its ring.

Be prepared 

Bring paper, pencil, pens, books, and completed assignments every day.

Be respectful of others and school property*** 

Keep hands, feet, books, and objects to yourself/No swearing, rude gestures, cruel teasing, or put downs.

Each consequence after the warning will result in a decrease in conduct grade.
