FOOD/CLOTHING DRIVE University Housing sponsors a food and clothing drive for local non-profit organizations beginning dead week and continuing throug move out. Feel free to donate items you don’t need (i.e. clothes, food, electronics, small furniture items, etc.) at your building’s drop off location. There will be posters designating what can and cannot be donated PLEASE RESPECT THESE GUIDELINES.

DUMPSTERS

Additional dumpsters will be added throughout University Housing buildings. There will also be additional trash pick up for closing. DO NOT leave trash in stairways, hallways, study lounges, or in common trash receptacles throughout the community. Please place all trash into dumpsters or large trash bins.

2. CLEAN There are cleaning suppplies available for checkout at your front desk!

3. CHECK OUT

PARKING Temporary 40-minute parking is permitted during finals week in designated areas close to the residence halls and apartments. Once you have loaded your car, please be considerate and move your vehicle. All standard parking rules apply.

Your room should be in the same state it was in when you moved into it. Make sure to clean the following areas: Window sills All assigned furniture (put back to original layout) Floors, walls, and ceilings Kitchen, including inside of refrigerator and freezer Trash and recycle bins (empty them!) Remove any decals, tape, tacks, etc.

There are two checkout options:

1. EXPRESS: For anyone who is NOT the last to move out of their room/apartment, available any time, not just during desk hours. 2. STANDARD: REQUIRED for the last roommate in each room/apartment. Failure to check out on time or follow procedure will result in an Improper Checkout Fee of $25 in addition to any charges associated with apartment/room damages, cleanliness, lost keys, or access cards.

OPTION ONE

OPTION TWO

EXPRESS CHECKOUT

STANDARD CHECKOUT

You may use this option as long as you are NOT the last person checking out of your room/apartment.

Make an appointment with an RA/CA for the exact time you expect to move out. By this appointment time, your room should be completely clean and empty, and an RA/CA will meet you at your room to check for any damages.

No appointment is necessary for this option. By selecting to complete an Express Checkout, you agree to be held financially responsible for any necessary cleaning and repair of damaged items and/or the replacement cost of missing items or items damaged beyond normal wear and tear. Any right to contest or appeal cleaning, damage, or replacement chargest is waved. Once you have cleaned and emptied your room as required, go to your front desk to: - Return bedroom key, access card, and any checked out equpment, cleaning supplies, etc. - Sign key registration card - If desk is closed: Fill out Express Checkout envelope, put keys inside, and submit it in designated box located at desk. Again, by completing an Express Checkout, you waive the right to appeal damage charges.

If you don’t make an appointment, or if you are not ready by your scheduled time, go to the front desk when you are completely ready. We appreciate your patience as you may have to wait until a RA/CA is available. When your RA/CA checks your room, you will sign paperwork and return your bedroom key, access card, and any equipment or cleaning supplies, etc. You will not be permitted to access your room after checking out. All standard checkouts will occur during desk hours. Failure to check out will result in an improper check out charge of $25 in addition to any damages or keys not returned.
