However his speaking and listening aren't at the intermediate level. His everyday conversation is okay, but his tones and his inflection aren't standard. Sometimes Chinese people don't understand him. B:

这个问题更大。他是在美国学习中文的,跟中国人交流的机会很少。除 了简单的句子,其它的都听不懂。 zhè gè wèntí gèng dà。 tā shì zài Měiguó xuéxí Zhōngwén de, gēn Zhōngguórén jiāoliú de jīhuì hěn shǎo。 chúle jiǎndān de jùzi, qítā de dōu tīngbudǒng。 This is the biggest problem. He studied Chinese in America and he didn't have many chances to speak with Chinese people. Except for simple sentences, he doesn't understand anything.
