Advent Opportunities…. ADVENT JOURNEY IN SCRIPTURE 2010 The Advent Journey into Scripture will be conducted by our own Deacon Ron Daigle. He will explore some Advent themes and how the upcoming Advent and Christmas seasons might open some new thoughts and modern relevance for our hectic world of today. The dates for these sessions are December 2, 9 and 16 (Thursday evenings) from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Fr. Bannon Hall. Deacon Ron is graciously filling in for Dorothy and Walter Twachtman while they take a break from the bible study program they regularly facilitate at this time of year. Please join Deacon Ron in these sessions as a way to celebrate this Advent season of anticipation. Mary and the Advent Journey…the Journey to the Heart Tuesday, December 14th 5:00-9:00 pm. Saint Patrick-Saint Anthony Church, Franciscan Center for Urban Ministry, 285 Church Street, Hartford. Each year the Advent season is an invitation for us to stop, listen and reflect on our spiritual journey. Using Mary, Mother of God as a “model” for reflective listening and one who journeyed to her hear to respond to God, this twilight retreat is an invitation for us to “journey to the heart” and will include time for prayer, listening, reflection and sharing. Presenter: Br. John Maganzini, OFM. Suggested offering: $15, includes dinner. Call 860.756.4034 to register.
