Chubby Charmer Tote Bag Supply List This is a large bag and also very sturdy. Makes a great overnight bag or carryall for a trip to the beach. It also makes a great gift for someone special. It can be made from either 48 charm squares or 2 pieces of fabric (18” x 27” each) for the exterior of bag. It is approximately 14”h x 18” w x 10” d. PATTERN & NOTIONS 1 ea. – Chubby Charmer Tote Pattern 4 ea. - 5/8” metal purse feet 1 ea. – Ultra Stiff Plastic Mesh Canvas (color does not matter) 12” x 18” (Jo Ann Fabrics) 1 ea. – Large decorative Button Fabric Requirements 48 ea. 5” Squares OR 1-1/8 yds. Fabric for front & back exterior of bag 1-1/8 yds. For lining & interior pockets Y2 yd. for Handles, side ties & button closure strap 3 yds. Pellon 987F Fusible Fleece OR 1/2 yd Soft - n- Stable and 1-1/2 yds Fusible Fleece HOMEWORK – These 3 steps MUST be completed BEFORE coming to class STEP 1. A. Prepare the Front & Back of bag exterior by sewing charm squares together. Trim to 18” x 27”. B. Cut 4 pieces of Fusible fleece 17 Y2” x 26 Y2 “ so that they are a bit smaller than your exterior. Fuse 2 pieces of fleece to front and 2 pieces to back. * If using Soft-n-Stable omit B. (above) YOU WILL NOT CUT THE 4 PIECES OF FUSIBLE FLEECE. C. Cut 2 pieces of Soft-n-Stable 18" x 27" for bag exterior. One piece is for the bag front and the other piece is for the bag back. STEP 2. Quilt as desired. STEP 3. Cut front and back lining fabric 2 each at 17” x 26”. Cut 2 pieces of fusible fleece 16 Y2” x 25 Y2” so that they are a bit smaller than the lining. Fuse 1 piece of fleece to front and 1 piece of fleece to back.
