CKC Introduction Providing a platform to tell authentic, compelling stories is the purpose of the Community Knowledge Centre (CKC) – an online resource that informs, inspires and connects citizens, donors, media, and policy makers to the needs in our community while showcasing the many opportunities to make a meaningful contribution. As one of Calgary’s largest grantmakers - last year providing $34.7 million to 758 charitable organizations The Calgary Foundation (TCF) is well situated and committed to serving and strengthening the long-term vitality of the charitable sector through initiatives like the Community Knowledge Centre by: providing citizens with a deeper understanding of the unique work of charitable organizations building profile and strengthening the communications capacity of charitable organizations CKC Benefits to Charitable Organizations Participation in CKC is free and open to all Calgary and area registered charitable organizations. The Calgary Foundation offers support on creating and updating a CKC profile through workshops, online resources and personalized assistance. CKC provides charitable organizations with opportunities to: promote awareness and understanding of charitable activities to an interested audience inform and engage citizens by providing opportunities to contribute resources and/or time enhance communications and fund development strategies by telling your unique story reach new audiences through an online platform that allows for current, relevant info CKC Getting Started: Outline of Development Process Expression of Interest: submit form that provides your organization’s primary contact information Account Management: receive CKC login/account management info Develop Profile: organizations will be given approximately 4 – 6 weeks to complete their CKC profile with the assistance of the following supporting documents: Getting Started: outline of initiative, benefits, and development process / timelines Profile Overview: index and text/graphics guidelines for developing CKC profile content Template: word doc to record/organize content prior to populating CKC profile Workshop: if assistance is requested to support your efforts in content creation Submit Profile: using password protected login, organizations submit CKC profile to TCF for review/approval Approve Profile: TCF reviews profile content, suggests revisions if applicable, prior to TCF publishing profile CKC Development: Next Steps Visit ckc.thecalgaryfoundation.org to view approximately CKC profiles currently featured on the site. Outreach to charitable organizations will continue over the next few years to build CKC into a premiere resource for our community.
