Christmas Card Competition

October 2016

CHRISTMAS 2016 Calling all Bowdon Church School artists..... Every year Bowdon Parish Church produces a postcard which has a picture and a greeting on one side and the times of our special Christmas services on the other. This is delivered at the end of November to all 2700 accessible homes in Bowdon and the image is used on our banners and website. Once again we are inviting the children of Bowdon Church School to enter a competition to be our Christmas artist and to design the winning picture.

The winning design from 4 years ago by Bessie Gillingham then in year 3.

The competition is open to all children in Bowdon Church School from reception up to year 6.

The design should illustrate one of the following four verses;

Luke 2 verse 7 'Mary gave birth to her firstborn son.. and laid him in a manger'

Luke 2 verse 8 'Shepherds were in the fields watching their sheep... An angel of The Lord stood before them and the glory of The Lord shone around them.

Micah 5 verse 2 ' But you Bethlehem, are one of the smallest towns in Judah. But from you will come one who will rule Israel for me'

Matthew 2 verse 2 The wise men asked 'Where is the one who has been born King of the Jews? We saw his star in the East and have come to worship him'
