CMP Student Athlete Contract/Expectations Any school sporting event is a continuation of the classroom and students are expected to maintain the same level of respect as they would at school. 1. All Student Athletes must be positive role models to all other students. 2. Student Athletes must display good sportsmanship at all times. 3. If the Athlete receives a write up or is sent to the office for bad behavior, causing distractions, or being disrespectful in any way, he/she may lose the privilege of attending that day’s team event (i.e. game or practice). 4. If the Athlete is sent home for any reason, he/she is not eligible to participate in any team event including games or practices for one week. 5. Athletes must maintain a C average in all classes to be eligible to participate. For 6th graders this means 70% of all work completed each week. 6. This contract is binding for all sports in which the Athlete participates in during the school year. Parents: Parents are expected to present good sportsmanship and respect toward all athletes, coaches and officials. Due to the emotions involved in sporting events, the coaches will maintain a 24 hour cool down period after every game in which no coach may be contacted. Protocol requests that parents talk with the Coach (not the referee or opposing coach) and then the Athletic Director. If those avenues are not successful, then the parent contacts the principal.
