Lesson 1: White
The Color of Clarity and Spirituality This week we will be focusing our attention on what many refer to as the Soul Star. The Soul Star, or for our course the "White Light", is located six inches above the head. I like to think of the white light as God's flashlight. It is the start of our process. For the first week I don't want you to worry too much about what the meaning of white is. With this color, our intention is to clear the physical body and prepare you for the next nine weeks. It is similar to drinking copious amounts of water before a physical cleanse. White is used for spiritual, physical and emotional cleansing. White light is also excellent for protection. White highlights our strengths and connection to the universe. I like to refer to this light as the “all purpose cleanser!” White is a wonderful energy to meditate on, no matter what your situation. Surround your loved ones in white during your prayers. Envision white light in your home to remove all heaviness and dross. Whenever in doubt on what color to use always choose white. Goals: • Your goal for this week is to try and meditate every day (I will guide you through a meditation in each week’s recording; there is also a document in this week’s course that walks you through the meditation procedure). You will hear me use a simple phrase over and over: Energy follows thought and
thought directs energy. Even if you are rushed on a particular day, and you only have time to close your eyes and quickly say in your mind "I surround my entire body in the white light" then that is good enough. I hope that you have at least two or three more meaningful meditations around (10-20 minutes long) this week. o For some of you, introducing a daily meditation may feel like a challenge. And for those of you who already have a meditation process it might be hard to learn and incorporate a new process and routine. This is all normal. The main goal is to be kind and gentle with yourself as you become acquainted with the process of meditating. Practical Application: • In addition to visualizing White in your mind’s eye, you can pull inspiration from White in your daily life. The idea is to use everyday objects or settings to boost your awareness of White. Some examples are: o Beautiful clouds in the sky o Snow-capped mountains in the distance o A white garment that you enjoy wearing o Even a white car that passes you by can be effective If you remember to do this during the week, you will continue to pull positive energy from having White in your consciousness. For example, if I am having a particularly stressful day and I am stuck in traffic, I may be in a trance of negativity. However, if I notice that I have been staring at a white car in front of me, it reminds me of the power of this color. I take a deep breath – I envision white light swirling around my car and suddenly the stress of the traffic is alleviated. Mind you, it’s not like the color of the car holds any power, but it is a simple reminder for me to calm down. Life is too short to stress about this moment. As we progress and you learn the meanings of more colors, you’ll notice how much a particular color follows you during certain periods of time. I’ve had a pink phase or a blue phase. For this week we are focusing our attention on the existence of white in our lives. Is there any white in your home? Your office? On your commute? Where has the White energy been sending you a message to just be?
What can I expect with white? • White is by far one of the best colors to start with. Most people find this color easy to visualize and it usually helps your meditations feel uplifting and positive. There is a reason that White is the “lightest” color. As you work with it, you should begin to feel clear and light. • People may comment that this week you seem happier, brighter and more energized. If so, then we know that the white light is beginning to taking its course. • If you are expecting to feel a specific emotion such as joy, please know that simply feeling clear and level-headed is also characteristic of white. • The white light may increase your desire to clean. Whether it is the garage, basement, or any room, the white light tends to make people want clean neutral surroundings.
Personal thoughts: I invite you to journal about your experience with White this week. Do you like it? Did you use it in a particular situation to increase or decrease a particular emotion? Take note of any objects or settings that help you harness White’s power. If it is a patch of White flowers in your home, take note of that so that you can utilize it later on. Future Applications: The simple definition of white is clarity of thought. If you are feeling indecisive, cluttered, or just stressed, bring the white light into your day for a clear perspective on who you are, where you are and most importantly the right direction to go in!
