CSU-PUEBLO INTRAMURALS MISSION STATEMENTS To provide the CSU-Pueblo community with rewarding recreational experiences and leadership opportunities. The purpose of Intramural Sports is to encourage the CSU-Pueblo Community to participate by challenging individuals and team members in sports and competitive activities. To provide healthful exercise, develop group loyalty, encourage higher academic achievement, and create choices by which students can establish values, obtain self definition, and enrich their lives. Through a recreational experience, our participants, regardless of their skills and abilities, will be given the opportunity to participate in formal and informal programs which will be useful not only during their years at the Colorado State University -Pueblo, but also for the rest of their lives. We believe that accomplishing this mission will contribute to the creation of a society of well-rounded, well educated individuals. Our mission is to create an awareness of, and promote the pursuit of, a balanced lifestyle through recreational sports and leisure activities that contribute to the long term physical, mental, social, and emotional growth of the individual. We create activities that enable the university community to have fun, to fully enjoy their university experience, and reduce the stress created by the rigors of classes and a rapidly changing environment. Our success will be built upon establishing activities that are driven by, and designed for, the needs of the university community based on the availability of facilities, funds and the safety of the activity. Possession: A tip will only be used for the beginning of a game and for the beginning of an overtime period to determine possession of the ball. The scorekeeper will be in charge of keeping track of jump balls. Clock: The game will consist of 2 18-minute halves. A continuous clock will be used until the last 2 minutes of each half, when the clock will stop for every dead ball.

Personal Fouls Each player will be allotted 5 fouls, on the 5th foul the player will be asked to leave the court. Away-From-the-Play Foul - In the last two minutes of the game, illegal contact by the defense which occurs either deliberately away from the ball, and/or before the ball is released on a throwin. Traveling/Walking-when the ball handler takes 3 steps without dribbling the ball. Blocking - Physically impeding the progress of another player who is still moving.

Charging - When an offensive player runs into a defender who has established position.

Double Foul - When two opponents commit personal or technical fouls against each other at about the same time.

Elbowing - Throwing your elbows during play in order to hit another player or push him away; it's a basketball foul if contact is made.
10. 11. Fighting Foul - When two or more players engage in fighting one another. 12. 13. Flagrant Foul - Unnecessary or excessive contact against an opponent. 14. 15. Foul - Actions by players which break the rules but are not floor violations. 16. Hand-Checking - Using the hands to check the progress of an offensive player when that player is in front of the defender who is using the hands. 17. Holding - Restricting the movement of an opponent. 18. Illegal Blocking - Illegal contact which impedes the progress of an opponent.
19. Illegal Screen - A form of blocking in which the player setting the screen is still moving when the defender makes contact. 20. Loose Ball Foul - A basketball foul committed while neither team has possession of the ball (such as when going for a rebound). 21. Offensive Foul - Illegal contact, committed by an offensive player, after the ball is live. 22. Over-the-Back - Infringing on the vertical plane of, and making contact with, a player who is in position and attempting to rebound. 23. Personal Foul - Contact which occurs with an opponent after the ball has become live that may result in injury (including a push, hold, trip, hack, elbow, restrain or charge). 24. Punching - Personal foul where one player punches another. 25. Pushing - Impeding the progress or otherwise moving a player by pushing or shoving. 26. Reaching In - Extending an arm and making contact with a ball handler in an attempt to steal the ball. 27. Team Foul - Each personal foul committed by a player is also counted against his team; when a team goes over the limit, its opponent is awarded free-throw opportunities.
28. Technical Foul 29. - Misconduct that officials believe is detrimental to the game; can be assessed against team members on the floor or seated on the bench. Penalized by a free-throw opportunity to the nonoffending team; also called a "T". 30. fighting or threatening to fight 31. baiting or taunting an opponent 32. illegal substitution or entering the game at an impermissible time 33. lifting or jumping onto a teammate to gain a height advantage 34. allowing players to lock arms in order to restrict the movement of an opponent 35. fighting or threatening to fight 36. disrespectfully addressing or contacting an official or gesturing in such a manner as to indicate resentment 37. intentionally hanging on the basket at any time (except to prevent an injury) 38. faking being fouled (flopping) 39. knowingly attempting a free throw or accepting a foul to which the player was not entitled 40. lifting or jumping onto a teammate to gain a height advantage 41. allowing players to lock arms in order to restrict the movement of an opponent 42. goaltending a free throw 43. remaining out of bounds to gain an advantage 44. grasping either basket during pre-game or half-time warm-ups during the time of the officials' jurisdiction, including attempting to dunk or stuff a dead ball (whether successful or not) prior to or during the game or during any intermission of the game
45. Team Fouls: The 1 and 1 rule begins at the 7th team foul. The bonus begins at the 10th team foul. 46. Time-outs: Each team is entitled to 2 timeouts per half. Each time-out will last approximately 30 seconds. 47. Overtime: If there is a tie at the end of regulation there will be one, 5-minute overtime period. The stop and go clock will be used in the final minute of overtime. If the play is tied at the end of this overtime period, a second overtime will be played until one team scores 11 points. One time-out will be given for overtime. AT NO TIME DO UNUSED TIME-OUTS CARRY OVER INTO OVERTIME. Bonus/ 1 and 1 team foul situations DO carry over into the overtime period. Personal foul situations carry over into each period. 48. Substitutions: All players MUST report their number to the scorekeeper prior to the start of the game. Any player who doesn’t report his number to the scorekeeper and enters the game will be charged with a scorecard infraction. Only people on the scorecard are allowed to play. A substitute can ONLY enter on a dead ball. 49. Technical Fouls: If a Player receives ONE Technical foul they will be ejected and must meet with Intramural Supervisor before participating in another game. All technical fouls may result in suspension from league based on the judgment of the Intramural Coordinator Any participant (player or spectator) demonstrating improper sportsmanship will automatically be issued a technical foul. 50. Ejections Ejections are categorized as immediate removal from an event due to a violation of event rules and/or the University’s Student Code of Conduct. Ejections will be determined by student officials and/or intramural student supervisors and/or University officials. Fighting will result in an immediate ejection from the event for the person(s) involved. Based on severity, may result in team expulsion from the league. If a participant (player or spectator) is ejected from a game he/she must leave the gym immediately. Participants (player or spectator) ejected for any reason will be suspended for a minimum of one game. Participants (player or spectator) who are ejected multiple times or ejected for serious rule violations (i.e. abuse of any nature or fighting) must meet with the Director of Intramurals and Club Sports Michael Hughes Rm. 6 before returning to game play.
If a participant (player or spectator) violates any portion of the student code of conduct he/she will be ejected from the event and possibly the league. He/she will be required to meet with the Director of Student Recreation before being allowed to participate in future events. The Dean of Student Life will determine whether ejection from the league is necessary.
CO-ED 2 vs. 2 RULES All above rules apply except the following: 1.
Scoring Points scored by a female player are 1 point more than a male that score from the same location. A 2 point shot will count as 3 and a 3 point shot will count as 4 points for that team.

Court Each game will be played half court.

Rim rule If a shot is taken which hits the rim but does not score and the opposing team gains position, the apposing team must take the ball outside the 3 point area.

Starting of game There will be no jump ball at the start of the game. The ball will be handed to a player and that player will either pass or dribble the ball to start play. A coin flip will determine first possession of ball.

Roster Only two players may be on a roster during a season.

Gameplay All rules are the same as five on five when referring to regulation play (fouls, equipment, etc) - First to score 25 points or whoever is winning after regulation (25 min) will win the match.
11.) ALCOHOL POLICY: Consistent with University Policy. Use, possession, manufacturing, or distribution of alcoholic beverages except as expressly permitted by law or University policy. Alcoholic beverages may not be used by, possessed by, or distributed to any person under twenty one (21) years of age. Public intoxication is not permitted on University property. ANY PERSON WHO APPEARS TO BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE PREMISIS. THE PUEBLO SHERRIF AND THE DIRECTOR OF INTRAMURAL SPORTS WILL BE NOTIFIED. Any penalty leveled by the CSU-PUEBLO Intramural Office does not release a person from any legal actions.
**FORFEIT POLICY** Teams will receive an F for their Sportsmanship Rating with an unexcused forfeit. Unexcused forfeits occur without prior notification of forfeiture to a intramural supervisor at least 24 hours in advance.
