WOMEN OF PLEASANT STREET — Have you ever led the discussion in a Bible study? Or as a member of a Bible study, have you thought you would like to try leading yourself? Coffee Break is looking for leaders for our small groups. We lead mostly by asking questions and helping women figure out for themselves what the Bible is saying. Coffee Break meets on Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11, beginning September 5, and we have leaders’ meetings on Thursday mornings to prepare. If this sounds good to you, or for questions, join us  Thursday, August 31, 10am in the Fellowship Hall or call Anna Bloem at 508.234.4902.

Welcome! We’re so glad that you're here. If you've been worshipping with us for a long time or you're entering the doors of a church for the first time, it is our hope that you'll experience a kind welcome, a sense of genuine community, and the grace and truth of Jesus Christ that the Christian Church has celebrated for centuries. If you're asking questions about faith and spirituality, join us in our formation opportunities and ministry events to learn more and meet others. Help us get to know you or let us know how we can pray for you by filling in the Communication Card in the pew and putting it in the offering basket—we'll be in touch. The Lord be with you!

WORSHIP—CELEBRATE WHAT GOD IS DOING

We would love to assist in helping your kids become devoted followers of Christ! Visit the KidStreet check-in station in the foyer to get a security tag so your kids can join us downstairs. We are downstairs ready to serve you!  Our KidStreet Class for PreK-2nd grade is dismissed to go with teachers right before the sermon. Please bring your security tag to pick up your children after service. We are excited to serve you!

GATHER Welcome & Announcements Call to Worship — based on Psalm 108:1-4 Our hearts are ready, O Lord, our hearts are ready! We will sing and make melody! We will awaken the dawn! We will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples, we will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is great above the heavens, and your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. SONG: The Steadfast Love of the Lord / Great is Thy Faithfulness SONG: Grace Flows Down Call to Confession — based on Romans 5:8; Hebrews 4:16 The proof of God’s amazing love is this: While we were sinners, Christ died for us. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Trusting in God’s faithfulness and compassion, let us confess our sin before God and one another. Prayer of Confession God of grace, in your presence we confess our sinfulness, our shortcomings, and our offenses against you. You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from your ways, in wasting your gifts, in forgetting your love. Have mercy on us, O Lord, for we are ashamed and sorry for all we have done to displease you. Forgive our sins, and help us to live in your light and walk in your ways, for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen. Silent Confession Words of Assurance —1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.” This is the good news! Thanks be to God!
