MINISTRY FAIR — Many small group and ministry opportunities are being offered to adults and youth this fall for anyone to be an attendee, a helper, or a leader! After worship on Sunday, August 27, look at everything displayed in the fellowship hall and sign-up everyone in your family!  This is also a good time to fill in registration forms for each of your children for the programs they will be involved in. WOMEN OF PLEASANT STREET — Have you ever led the discussion in a Bible study? Or as a member of a Bible study, have you thought you would like to try leading yourself? Coffee Break is looking for leaders for our small groups. We lead mostly by asking questions and helping women figure out for themselves what the Bible is saying. Coffee Break meets on Tuesday mornings, 9:30-11, beginning September 5, and we have leaders’ meetings on Thursday mornings to prepare. If this sounds good to you, or for questions, join us  Thursday, August 31, 10am in the Fellowship Hall or call Anna Bloem at 508.234.4902.

Welcome! We’re so glad that you're here. If you've been worshipping with us for a long time or you're entering the doors of a church for the first time, it is our hope that you'll experience a kind welcome, a sense of genuine community, and the grace and truth of Jesus Christ that the Christian Church has celebrated for centuries. If you're asking questions about faith and spirituality, join us in our formation opportunities and ministry events to learn more and meet others. Help us get to know you or let us know how we can pray for you by filling in the Communication Card in the pew and putting it in the offering basket—we'll be in touch. The Lord be with you!

WORSHIP—CELEBRATE WHAT GOD IS DOING

We would love to assist in helping your kids become devoted followers of Christ! Visit the KidStreet check-in station in the foyer to get a security tag so your kids can join us downstairs. If you arrive late and need help checking in, assistance is available at the nursery.  The nursery is open to  infants-3 year olds. We are downstairs ready to serve you!  Our KidStreet Class for PreK-2nd grade is dismissed to go with teachers right before the sermon. Please bring your security tag to pick up your children after service. We are excited to serve you!

Sermon Notes:

GATHER Welcome & Announcements Call to Worship — based on Proverbs 8:32-35 and Psalm 145:9-12 Blessed are they who walk in the ways of wisdom. Hear her instruction and be wise. Blessed are they who listen and find life and favor from the LORD. The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made. All you have made will praise you, O LORD; your faithful people praise you. They tell about your glorious kingdom. They speak about your power. Then all people will know about the mighty things you have done. They will know about the glorious majesty of your kingdom. Come, let us worship our God and King! SONG: God We Sing Your Glorious Praises SONG: O Come to the Altar Call to Confession — from Isaiah 1:18; Jeremiah 31:34 “Come now, let us reason together,” says the Lord. We confess that we envy others. We do not live like Christ who calls us to be content with what we have. Forgive us, Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” We covet what belongs to our neighbor. Our lives are driven by our wants. Forgive us, Lord. “Though your sins are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” We begrudge the invitation to give generously and joyfully. We turn away from the needs of others and do not see the difference our caring can make. Forgive us, Lord. “I will forgive… and will remember their sins no more.” Silent Prayers of Confession SONG: Good to Me

Passing the Peace & Mutual Greetings The peace of Christ be with you. And also with you! KIDSTREET Dismissal (4 years — 2nd grade) One: People of God, what is our prayer? ALL: Lord, continue to show us your Wonderful, Never Stopping, Never Giving Up, Unbreaking, Always and Forever love. Amen! People: The Lord be with you! KidStreet: And also with you!
