What a difference a month makes! It's hard to believe, but Hourigan Construction tells us that we are just 4-5 weeks away from completion of our new building. Outside crews are grading and installing sidewalks around the building, while inside wiring is being completed, lighting and cabinetry are being installed, and the elevator is under construction. It is exciting to be so close!
A beautiful day to build a building.
Carpenters are installing the custom cabinetry, including in the new science room shown here.
The view from the second floor balcony. Soon we will have our green back!
The Courtyard outside the Greenwood Commons will be a gathering place for students.
Collaboration Rooms Create Opportunity
Learning at The New Community School happens everywhere. When designing our new building, faculty and students shared a desire for space outside the classroom where students could study, collaborate, and learn. That is why three Collaboration Rooms are being created. These rooms will be free for students and faculty to use to work collaboratively, or individually as a quiet place of study or dictation.
Funding Update
Thanks to more than 250 donors, Building on Strengths is now more than 96% to our goal. We would love to be fully funded by the time the building opens. Don't forget that every gift of $1,000 or more will be honored publicly in the Greenwood Commons. Please help us reach the top today!
