Rotation of the Earth S Earth rotates, or spins, as it revolves around the sun. S Rotation: each complete turn on Earth’s axis S

is at the center of one of the time zones. S Greenwich Mean Time or Universal Time (UT)

of how many hours they are behind or ahead of UT. S Central Standard Time in the United States is
UT-6, or six hours behind UT.
