Corn and Beans Quilt
Introducing Andover Fabrics new collection: Little House on the Prairie® – PRAIRIE FLOWERS by Kathy Hall Quilt designed by Jean Ann Wright Quilt finishes 45s" x 45s" This medallion quilt is made with scrappy triangles that surround a pretty scene of early days on the prairie. The piecing requires some experience to join the mitered corners.

Cutting Directions
Note: Read assembly directions before cutting patches. All measurements are cut sizes and include 4" seam allowances. The mitered border includes extra length for insurance. WOF designates the width of fabric from selvedge to selvedge (approximately 42" wide). 5" Strips Packet Read Step 1 Fabric A Fussy-cut (1) square 14d" x 14d" Fussy-cut (4) borders 52" x 50" (includes extra length), cut crosswise and pieced Fabric B Cut (5) strips 22" x WOF for binding Backing Cut (2) panels 27" x 54", pieced to fit quilt top with overlap on all sides

Making the Quilt
1. Cut each 5" square diagonally in half. The triangles have long bias edges, so handle them carefully to prevent stretching. Referring to the Quilt Diagram, arrange 21 triangles in a pleasing manner to make one side unit. Join 5 triangles side by side to make the inner row. Join 7 triangles to make the middle row. Join 9 triangles to make the outer row. Join the rows to make the unit. Repeat to make 4 side units. 2. Stitch a side unit to each side of the center square, starting and stopping the stitching 4" from the edges of the square. Sew the units together where they meet in the corners. 3. Sew the borders to the quilt, starting and stopping the stitching 4" from the edges. Miter the corners and trim the excess from the seam.
Finishing the Quilt
4. Layer the quilt with batting and backing and baste. Quilt in the ditch around the triangles. Quilt around the motif in the center square and border. Bind to finish the quilt.
