This course is suitable for teachers who use Autodesk Inventor at any level of the curriculum. You probably already know how to crop and resize a digital image. You probably also know how to simply combine elements of one image with another.
COURSE CONTENT Resolution why it matters in source images and renders
Transparency transparency in image files and renders, creating and using hard-edged and soft-edged transparency
Layering
This course is about taking things a little further and will focus on image editing and manipulation tasks that can be used to fully control and enhance the images you use in Desktop Publishing projects, Inventor decals and as render backgrounds and props. It is also about getting the most from your rendered output: Controlling and matching resolutions, image transparency, interesting and creative compositing and layering, adding enhancements such as lighting flare, shadows, colour adjustments and depth of field. This course is suitable for those with only a little experience of digital image editing and those who would consider themselves at an intermediate or advanced level. The skills developed will be useful to teacher of all ages and stages from S1 to S6. The image editing software we will use on the course is Serif PhotoPlus but all the activities and skills covered are applicable in Adobe PhotoShop, GIMP or other image editing software.
