29th January – 1st February 2018 HMI VISIT I am extremely pleased to let parents know that a couple of weeks ago we had an HMI (Her Majesty’s Inspector) visit our school to evaluate our progress since the last Ofsted inspection. HMI Simon Rowe spent the day with Governors, Leaders and students in and out of lessons and recognised the effective actions we are taking to ensure that every student achieves well at Court Fields. His report has just been published, which you will find on our website for you to read. We are continuing to focus on the further actions Simon notes in his report, but are delighted as a school and a community that what we are doing is making a difference. Any feedback or comments you would like to make about this report are welcome either via email, or we do have a Parent Forum on Tuesday 30th January in the Conference Room if you would like to pop in as I will be discussing the report with parents. Ms Bennett – Headteacher

Academic Monitoring Days – Thursday 1st February 4.30pm – 7.30pm Friday 2nd February 8.30am – 3.00pm See details over leaf.

Data collection sheets have been sent home with students today. We would be grateful if you could take some time to check the sheet carefully, clearly amending anything that is incorrect, signing and returning to the School Office as soon as possible so that we can ensure our records are up to date.

YEAR 8 GIRLS - HPV VACCINATIONS Year 8 Girls will be having their first HPV vaccination on Tuesday 6th February in school. You should have received a consent form to your home address from the Local Health Authority please complete and return this to the school office to grant permission for your daughter to be vaccinated. Without the form the vaccination cannot be given. We are unable to provide the consent forms at school so if you have misplaced yours, or are yet to receive it, please contact the health authority on 01278 726946 and they can arrange for a form to be sent to your home address.

STEM OPPORTUNITY Some of Year 8 are being offered a fantastic STEM opportunity on Wednesday 8th February. The day is run by EDF and proves to be fantastic learning opportunity aimed at inspiring the next generation of Scientists.

SAFEGUARDING ISSUE DROPPING OFF AND COLLECTING STUDENTS EACH DAY Please could parents drop their children off at the Youth Centre and not drive onto the school site unless by prior arrangement with the Head of House. It causes congestion for staff trying to park their cars, as well as Health & Safety issues as they walk from their cars to the school buildings. For Health & Safety reasons, students should use the public footpath to walk into school and not the main school driveway.

SUMMER ENRICHMENT DAYS Thank you to everyone who has sent their forms and deposits in for the Summer Enrichment Days. All monies received will be kept in the safe and receipts will be issued in due course once it has been confirmed that activities are going ahead. If you haven’t yet returned your son or daughter’s form and deposits please do so as soon as possible, as some activities are filling up very fast.
