REAL Certificate Costs • Tuition is $6,500 per semester ▫ includes the costs associated with auditing classes, taking part in work-related experiences and community-based social instruction.

• Approved as a CTP program, enabling eligible students to apply for Title IV Financial Aid (only Pell grants) and use OVR funds • Approved to accept Consolidated or Person/Family Directed Supports (PFDS) waiver • Scholarships ▫ Brian & Patricia Kelly Postsecondary Scholarship Fund (2016-2017)

Research Says… • Peer-mediated interventions work! • Peer mentoring/tutoring benefits both mentors and those being mentored ▫ Researchers found that mentoring had benefits in learning more about other fields of study, interpersonal skills, and having positive feelings about one's self. (Farley, J.A., Gibbons, M.M., & Cihak, D.F. (2014). Peer mentors in a postsecondary education program for students with intellectual disabilities. College Student Journal, 48(4), p. 651.)

REAL Student Quotes • “The real certificate program has been a good experience for me because our peer mentors and tutors helped me come out of my comfort zone.” • “It has introduced me to some great friendships”

Peer • "I am so glad that I am a part of this program. This is not something I would normally volunteer for, but a friend suggested I try it out. I decided I would just for kicks and see where it would go. To be honest, it was more for how it would look on an application. Now, I can't imagine my weeks without N. She brightens my day just by being herself. I am so thankful to have met N. and am excited for the rest of the semester."
