First of all, stand straight and relax with feet placed shoulder width apart, then somewhat bend your knees. Tilt your pelvis forward a bit and keep your body balanced so that your weight is equally distributed over your feet by shifting your weight forward. Remain in this position for a few moments. Next, sit with legs crossed and place the tips of your thumb and index finger together gently, as shown here. Center your thoughts on the Root chakra at the base of your spine. Quietly, but clearly, chant the sound “LAM.” The A sounds like “ah” and the M is “mng.” Allow yourself to relax while thinking about the chakra, its meaning, and how it does or ought to impact your life. Continue doing this until you're completely relaxed. You might also experience a feeling of being cleansed.
