BOYS –Outwitting in Invasion Games (FOOTBALL – possession, creating space, heading 3v1, attack and defence), Outwitting in net/wall games (BADMINTON – court markings, long and short serve, clears, scoring system) GIRLS – Outwitting in Invasion Games (NETBALL – possession, attack and defense, shooting, feeding the ball into the circle), Performing to maximum levels (SWIMMING – breast stroke, two touch turn)

BOYS – Fitness activities - Building Endurance – Fartlek training, continuous training, assessment of pulse, short and long term effects of exercise on the body. SWIMMING – breast stroke, two touch turn GIRLS - Replicating actions (GYMNASTICS – travel and balance, ability to take own body weight. Outwitting in Net/ Wall games (BADMINTON – court markings, long and short serve, clears, scoring system)

Unit 1 - Fitness for Sport and Exercise – External Exam. Content – Physical and skill-related components of fitness, Principles of Training, Methods of Training,

Unit 3 – The Mind and Sports Performance. Personality - measuring personalities, views of personality. Motivation – Types and views of motivation, achievement motivation. Goal setting – SMART, self-confidence and self-efficacy. Anxiety and how it affects sports performance. Assignments throughout the unit

Unit 1 - Fitness for Sport and exercise – External Exam. Content – Fitness Testing methods. Revision for exam. Unit 2 - Practical Sport – Badminton and Basketball practical activities. Assignments - Rules and Regulations leaflet, log books. Unit 4 - The Sports Performer in Action Short term effects of exercise on the musculoskeletal system, cardiorespiratory system and respiratory system. Long term effects of exercise on the musculoskeletal system, cardiorespiratory system and respiratory system. Energy systems used during exercise. Assignments throughout the unit.
