Block 3: Square in a Square Finished Size: 12” X 24” Make two. You will need 4 fabrics for these blocks. Fabric #4 Fabric #11 Fabric #12 Fabric Background Fabric #1 Fabric # 9 Fabric #15

Make 1 of each color variation shown above:

Draw a diagonal line across the 3 1/2” squares. Place a squares on each corner of the Fabric A Center square. Stitch on the line. Trim excess to 1/4”.
Background Fabric #4 & #1
2 squares 6 1/2”
Center a Fabric C triangle on one side of center square and stitch. Repeat for all 4 sides.
Fabric #9 & #11 8 Squares 3 1/2” Create another identical block. Sew the two blocks together.
Fabric # 15 & # 12
Repeat to create an additional set with the other colors.
2 Squares 7 1/4” Cut in quarters diagonally making 8 triangles Fabric Background
4 Squares 6 7/8”
Cut in half diagonally making 8 triangles
