Volunteers are needed to work the St. Mary’s “Totally Tubular 80s 5K and Fun Run” on June 6 at 8:00 a.m. Volunteers will be located along the route to help cheer on and guide runners along. This is an 80s event. They encourage you and your friends to dress up 80s style and help with this event. Signup outside Student Services. (M)
There will be an officers meeting for FCS club in room 309 on Tuesday during 7th period. (M, T)
There will a large group meeting for FCS club in room 309 on Thursday during 7th period. Make-up meetings will be held during lunch periods on Friday, but you must report to room 309 directly at the start of the hour.(M, T, W, Th)
Anyone interested in playing football next fall we will be having our annual "Spring Fling" this Wednesday evening at 6:00pm in the main gym. Please make plans to attend so we can get the summer organized. (M, T, W)
For Cinco de Mayo we will be serving burritos on the taco line this week. Wednesday is beef burrito and Tuesday and Thursday is chicken burrito. With that you will get a free apple churro. (M)
Three MHS students placed at the IHSA Journalism State competition on Friday: Katie Ervin, second in state in broadcast news writing, Christin Watkins, third in state in headline writing, and Jacob Wagner, fourth in state in feature photography. ALSO: The MHS Mirror newspaper received FIRST this year, along with 22 individual awards, which makes the publication the best in its division in the state of Illinois. Congratulations journalists!
Attention Student Council members, there will be a student council meeting tomorrow at 7:45 in Mr. Walk’s room. Any member who wants to run for office must attend.
The Mattoon Wordsmiths will meet this Wednesday from 3:40 to 4:30 in room 217. (M, T, W)
