Knowledge and Experience UT Arlington - Research Experience Fact Checking with Freebase Spring 2016 Wrote queries in MQL to test whether factual statements could successfully be verified using a knowledge graph such as Freebase. Learned about the advantages of knowledge graphs and their properties within the context of fact checking. Claim to question conversion Summer 2016 Using NLP tools such as AlchemyAPI and WordNet. I explored methodologies for converting factual claims back into their corresponding questions. These could then be queried using knowledge graphs or existing databases, to test the accuracy/success of conversions.
UT Austin - Research Experience Angle of Repose of Powders Fall 2012 Helped with constructing a setup to effectively track the angle of repose of different variations of lactose. Tracked the compression level of powders using image analysis, and made a GUI for the script using the PyQt toolkit. Artificial Lung Project Fall 2012 Helped with building a rudimentary lung to simulate breathing patterns. Worked with vacuum pumps, and circuits. Did work on an Arduino board and researched possible methods to control the motor using a Python/Arduino interface.
