ATHLETIC FACILITY
MEALS Campers are encouraged to bring their own lunch each day. For those wishing to purchase a lunch, Daemen College will provide lunches each day at a cost of $6 per camper to be paid at lunch time each day. FACILITIES Camp sessions are conducted on the Daemen College campus in Amherst, NY. Facilities include Lumsden Gymnasium, the home venue of the Daemen Wildcats, as well as Amherst High School and Amherst Middle School. Campers are alternated between the facilities so everyone gets a chance to stay and compete at Lumsden Gymnasium. For those using Amherst High School, campers will be escorted by camp staff across the street into the gym. Should Amherst Middle School be needed, campers will be transported by van. PARKING When dropping off or picking up campers, please park in the lot behind Duns Scotus Hall (attached to Lumsden Gymnasium) or on Main Street in front of Lumsden Gymnasium. The Daemen College Basketball Camp is not responsible for parking tickets issued to campers or their families. PICK-UP/DROP-OFF Lumsden Gymnasium opens each morning at 8:15am. Campers are welcome to come early and basketballs will be available for them to shoot. Campers are expected to be on time with the day officially getting underway at 9:00am. Camp ends at 4:00pm daily. The Daemen College Basketball Camp will provide supervision until 4:30pm for any campers who cannot be picked up directly at 4:00pm. All campers will be dismissed daily by the Camp Director and campers will be required to notify their respective coaches when their ride has arrived. ATHLETIC TRAINER A Daemen College athletic trainer will be on site at Lumsden Gymnasium at all times. Camp staff will be given medical kits when traveling to Amherst High School and/or Amherst Middle School. The Daemen College athletic training room will be available for use by all campers. INSURANCE Each participant is required to have medical insurance. Any medical bills incurred will be billed to the camper’s insurance company. Any medical expenses not covered by your insurance policy are the responsibility of the camper’s parents or guardians. REFUND POLICY Refunds will be given only as a result of injury or illness. The refund will be based upon a percent of the daily loss, less a $25 non-refundable fee. Any camper who is dismissed from camp for disciplinary reasons will not be granted a refund. A $25 processing fee will also be charged for any cancellations. Partial refunds will only be offered if more than one day is missed.

DAY CAMP HIGHLIGHTS Designed for beginners (entering grades 4-6) as well as intermediate level junior high and high school boys (entering grades 7-10), this camp offers instruction and training in the fundamental skills and techniques of passing, dribbling, shooting, screening, individual defense and team defense. Emphasis is placed on individual skill improvement while also teaching team offensive and defensive concepts. Various drills, games and competition will be used to put these techniques into practice. Campers are divided into two separate leagues by age and experience as well as skill level, which provides a great learning environment. In a five day program, campers are exposed to basketball being taught at a high level by Daemen coaches and players. Additionally, campers have the privilege of hearing from several guest speakers throughout the week, touching on topics from basketball to the dangers of drug and alcohol addiction.

Don Silveri brings over 40 years of coaching experience, including the last 25 years as Daemen's Head Men's Basketball Coach. In that time, Silveri has guided the Wildcats to over 400 wins while establishing the program as a regional power. With nine 20-win seasons under his belt as well as five conference championships and six National Tournament appearances, Silveri is one of the finest basketball technicians in the history of Western New York College Basketball. This past season, Silveri led his team to a 21-7 overall record and a 17-3 mark in the East Coast Conference, winning the ECC regular-season title in just the Wildcats' first season in the NCAA Division II conference. In addition to his exploits at Daemen, Silveri experienced success as the Head Coach at both Erie Community College and Villa Maria College while also coaching professionally in Puerto Rico's Superior League for the Mayaguiz Tianos.
ASSOCIATE CAMP DIRECTOR Mike Miranto Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach Mike Miranto enters his fifth year as the Associate Camp Director for the Daemen College Boys Basketball Camp. With 10 years of coaching experience, including the last seven as a lead assistant at the collegiate level, Miranto is well versed in the fundamentals of basketball. Prior to arriving at Daemen, Miranto served as an assistant coach at the University of Great Falls after establishing roots in the Western New York basketball community as a player, and later assistant coach, at North Tonawanda High School, and as a college player locally at Buffalo State College. In addition to this experience, Miranto has also served as a camp counselor at the Niagara University Basketball Camp, the Buffalo State College Basketball Camp, the University at Buffalo Basketball Camp, the University of Great Falls Holiday Clinic and the Phoenix Suns Basketball Camp. Daemen College sports camps may limit attendance based on several factors, such as age, number of participants and grade level. However, camp attendance at Daemen is never restricted by a camper's skill level or competitive experience.
