Dear Awana Parents: We have gathered some information so that you know what to expect throughout the year in Truth and Training (T&T). T&T SCHEDULE 6:15 pm – Opening Ceremony in Auditorium 6:30-7:45 pm — Various activities in different areas of the church MEMBERSHIP Each child will begin with the entrance booklet titled The Start Zone. This is the first step in Awana achievement. We hope you will help your child complete this over the first three weeks that they attend club. Upon the completion of this booklet, your child is an Awana T&T club member. HANDBOOKS After completion of The Start Zone, a clubber is a member of T&T and is eligible to purchase a uniform and the first handbook. Clubbers work one section at a time with the goal of completing one book during the club year. Clubbers can receive up to two helps in each section of the handbook. Each section must be recited in one sitting. PARENTS You are a very important part of how your child progresses in his/her handbook. Please encourage them to complete the sections in their handbook and let the practice reciting the memory verses to you. Completing two to three sections each week, starting in September, will insure that a handbook will be completed within the Awana year. Remember, you are investing in your child’s spiritual life! Spend time together, make it fun. **NOTE – If your 3rd grader did not finish his/her handbook from the year before, they will continue in the handbook they have already started. If it was completed, they move on to the next T&T handbook. All 5th graders begin a Challenge Start Zone.
UNIFORMS Clubber must be a member in order to wear a uniform. The uniform for 3rd and 4th graders is the green T&T t-Shirt. For 5th graders in the Challenge book, the uniform is the blue T&T Challenge Shirt. The uniform is important because: • It provides a place to put the awards earned by the clubber. A clubber who earns an award, but does not have a uniform, will have the award held until his/her uniform arrives. • A uniform gives the clubber a feeling of identity with the group. AWANA AND CHURCH ATTENDANCE AWARDS Awards are given for attending Awana and church.
