SUPPLY LIST ❖ Garden Song Book from Art-to-Heart (Bloom Pillow EXCEPT I chose to make a wall quilt instead of a pillow. The fabric amounts below are for a quilt made like the class sample. If you wish to make the pillow, see page 8 in the book for fabric amounts. We will NOT work on quilt construction OR pillow construction in class. We will focus only on the machine applique’ aspect of the project.) ❖ 100% cotton fabric o

Background: ½ yard

o

1/8 yds. OR fat eighths in assorted fabrics for the applique’ pieces (1/4 yd. cut OR a fat eighth for the letter “M”)

o

1/8 yard or fat quarter for inside border

o

7/8 yd. for outside border and binding

o

7/8 yd. for backing – you will not need this for class

❖ Fusible web: Heat and Bond Lite - NOT Featherweight - ½ yard. ❖ Tear away stabilizer: 3/4 yard ❖ Thread for machine applique’: one color to blend with each of the applique’ fabrics, OR you may use a single color (like black) for all of the applique’, if that is the look you desire.

I like Aurifil 50 wt. cotton thread, but you may use any thread

that you desire: cotton, polyester, rayon ❖ Sewing machine: clean, oiled and ready to sew ❖ Notions: fabric scissors, pins, seam ripper, etc. ❖ Several empty bobbins to fit your machine ❖ Sewing machine needles: universal tip size 70/10 or 80/12 ❖ Open-toe applique’ foot to fit your machine: THIS IS IMPORTANT FOR GOOD VISUALIZATION!!! This may NOT be a foot that came with your sewing machine. ❖ Rotary cutter, mat, and ruler (6X12” OR 9” square or larger) ❖ Pencil ❖ Batting approximately 30” square (you won’t need this for class) ❖ Assorted small buttons for embellishment (your preference) – you won’t need these for class ❖ Paper for notes
