Spring Semester 2017 Discipleship Opportunities
Is there an expense in taking a class? Only if a course has a literature requirement. Many courses have daily workbooks that expand and multiply the learning experience outside of class time. Most any class can be audited (taking a class w/o benefit of purchasing needed materials) but this will affect your learning experience. Why should I Register? Registration helps in the assigning of classroom space and ordering needed literature. A registration form is available with this brochure. You can leave the form at the registration table or turn it in to the church office. Please, register as soon as possible. What about my children? To make sure that childcare and other facilities are available during your class time, please record on your registration form the number and ages of the children you will bring.

Spring Semester 2017
The Prodigal God
The Gospel of John: Chapters 13-21 (part 2)
Zechariah: God Remembers His Promises The name Zechariah means, “The Lord remembers.” How appropriate that is, for the Book of Zechariah is about that very thing: God remembers His promises to Israel, and to us.
This class will discuss one of Jesus’ best loved parables– The prodigal son. And discuss the depths of God’s love and how his grace extends into some very unexpected places.
The Gospel of John is filled with profound truths and rich spiritual stories. Stories of Christ's miracles that inspire His followers; stories of death that redeems the lost; and the stories of Resurrection that provides us with hope for eternal glory. Every miracle, teaching, and reaction John writes has one clear purpose to prove that Jesus is the Word, the Messiah, and the Son of God. The dramatic milestones of Christ's ministry, as portrayed by John, have invited millions of believers through out the ages into a saving faith with Jesus Christ, and will lead you into a deeper understanding of the ultimate story of Jesus, the Son of God.
Taking you beyond the traditional focus on the wayward younger son, this class helps you glean insights from each of the characters in Jesus' parable: the irreligious younger son, the moralistic elder son, and the Father who lavishes his love on both. Inside this class, you will explore the truths of Jesus' parable in your own life. The gospel is neither religion nor irreligion, but something else entirely. Whether you're a devout believer or a skeptic, The Prodigal God will challenge you to see Christianity in a whole new way.

Have you ever wondered about the promises that God made to Israel? Some have already been fulfilled, and some are yet to be. When and how will that happen? How do present day events in the Middle East relate to the return of Christ? Have you ever gone through periods where you doubted God’s faithfulness to His promises? Zechariah’s prophecy will give you “strength for today, and bright hope for tomorrow.” Join Pastor Thurman and Lindsay Poteat for a fascinating study of biblical prophecy, as we fix our eyes on Jesus, our coming King. Resurrection - Life In The Age To Come Eternity lasts forever; heaven doesn't. Resurrection, not heaven, is where all God's future promises find fulfillment. Its crucial that we get this right. So come explore with us why Christianity collapses without resurrection. Discover how Jesus' resurrection split history into thirds - a surprise to his fellow Jews. Find out why our existence in heaven must be temporary. Unpack with us how the future glorification of the believer can't happen without resurrection. Uncover with us why your greatest hope, like the Apostle Paul's, should be resurrection - not heaven.
