Workshop II - Urban Waters July 16th – 18th, 2013 Learn about balancing the needs of our cities with healthy waterways, and how you and your students can help. Meet in Philadelphia, PA. View presentations by local experts. Participate in hands-on classroom activities, including some from Project WET. Discover aquatic animals and stream health through chemical and biological studies. Explore Philadelphia, including tours of Philadelphia’s water treatment plant, Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center, and examples of greening projects. Learn about the NEW Green Schools, Clean Water Curriculum!!!

Each workshop will run for three days, have a different format, and will meet at different locations. Workshop I – Estuary Explorer July 10th – 12th, 2013 From our streams to the mouth of the Delaware Bay, come with us to explore the Delaware Estuary’s magnificent outdoor classroom! Meet in Salem, NJ and Dover, DE. Travel from Dover, DE to spend the night in Lewes, DE. Participate in hands-on classroom activities, including lessons by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection on nature’s finest water filter – shellfish! Explore a wetland restoration site. Tour an oil spill response boat. Learn native garden/outdoor classroom how-to. Seine the Delaware Bay. Enjoy an overnight in Lewes, DE (FREE accommodations provided).
