Finished Size: 19"w x 28" (48.5 cm x 71 cm) MATERIALS Super Bulky Weight Yarn [1¾ ounces, 43.75 yards (50 grams, 40 meters) per ball]: Variegated - 6 balls Novelty Eyelash Yarn [1¾ ounces, 27.34 yards (50 grams, 25 meters) per ball]: Black - 2 balls 31" (78.5 cm) Circular knitting needle, size 11 (8 mm) or size needed for gauge Yarn needle Gauge Swatch: In Stockinette Stitch, 12 sts and 16 rows = 4" (10 cm)
COWL
With Variegated, cast on 86 sts. Row 1: Purl across. Row 2: Knit across. Rows 3-11: Repeat Rows 1 and 2, 4 times; then repeat Row 1 once more.
Row 1: With Black, purl across. Row 2: Knit across. Row 3: Purl across. Repeat Rows 2 and 3 until Trim measures approximately 2" (5 cm), ending by working Row 3. Bind off all sts loosely in knit. Weave back seam (Fig. 1).
WEAVING SEAMS With the right side of both pieces facing you and edges even, sew through both sides once to secure the seam. Insert the needle under the bar between the first and second stitches on the row and pull the yarn through (Fig. 1). Insert the needle under the next bar on the second side. Repeat from side to side, being careful to match rows. If the edges are different lengths, it may be necessary to insert the needle under two bars at one edge.
Rows 12-16: Knit across. Rows 17-21: Repeat Rows 1 and 2 twice, then repeat Row 1 once more. Rows 22-24: Knit across. Row 25: Purl across. Rows 26-28: Knit across. Rows 29-33: Repeat Rows 1 and 2 twice, then repeat Row 1 once more. Rows 34-42: Knit across. Rows 43-59: Repeat Rows 9-25. Rows 60-64: Knit across. Rows 65-69: Repeat Rows 1 and 2 twice, then repeat Row 1 once more. Cut Variegated.
