DETROIT CHAPTER HOSTS ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS DAY IAAP Detroit (Detroit, Michigan Chapter) hosted the 60th Annual Administrative Professionals Day Celebration with a Networking Breakfast and Expo on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at the Emagine Theatre of Royal Oak, MI as part of the 60th Administrative Professionals Day during Administrative Professionals Week. This event celebrated 60 years of recognizing and acknowledging the contributions of administrative and office personnel at this year’s Administrative Professionals Day Networking Breakfast and Expo with administrative professionals and their executives from Detroit’s most respected companies. Jim Ellison of Royal Oak gave opening remarks, welcomed everyone to Royal Oak, MI and issued a proclamation declaring April 22-28 Administrative Professionals week as well as April 25, 2012 as Administrative Professionals Day. levels. Tammy L. Turner delivered the keynote address at this year’s event and had everyone putting to use effective networking techniques by the end of the event. She also provided autographed copies of her best selling book, "How To Talk to Strangers" a step-by-step guide to Professional Networking. Vendors were in attendance and provided many of the prizes won by attendees, which included Tigers tickets, Padfolio’s, jewelry and an overnight stay & breakfast package, courtesy of the Marriott Auburn Hill Pontiac at Centerpoint. Guests enjoyed great food, drawings and prizes and the opportunity to shop from and gain useful information from vendors. As an added bonus, Emagine Entertainment, Inc. event sponsor provided free appetizers for each guest and member present as part of this year’s Administrative Professionals Day Celebration.
