Supplies Needed
• 5 Fabric Palette® Dino-Roar Flannel Fat Quarters (3 for bib; 2 for burpie) • 1 pkg. Jumbo rick rack • 2 ½" x 6 ½" Paper backed fusible web (for bib) • ¾" Hook and loop tape (for bib) • Coordinating thread • 2 ½" x 6 ½" Tear-away stabilizer (optional) • Clear tape • Basic sewing supplies • Sewing machine • Iron and pressing surface
B efore you begin
Read all instructions before beginning project. Do not prewash fabrics. Before cutting, press with a dry iron. Use ¼" seam allowance and sew fabrics with right sides together (RST) unless otherwise noted. Print Template pieces 1 and 2 for each project. Note: When printing, check that page size is set to actual size and compare printout with template measurements noted in cutting section below.

Tape Burpie Template pieces 1 and 2 together; cut out along printed outside edge. (Template size: 8" x 15")

Sewing the Burpie 1. Pin a Burpie Front (Fabric B) end piece to each short edge of the Burpie Front (Fabric A) center piece RST; sew and press seams open (Dia. A). Burpie front should measure 8 ½" x 16"

2. Pin a rick rack strip over each seam and sew down the center to attach (Dia. B).

3. Line up the dotted lines on the Burpie template with the center of the rick rack; trace and cut out the Burpie Front (Dia. C).

4. Trace the template on the wrong side of the Burpie Back (Fabric A) and cut out. 5. Place Front and Back RST; pin. Sew around outside edges leaving a 3" opening for turning; clip curves. 6. Turn right side out; press and hand stitch opening closed. Topstitch ¼" from edge.

Sewing the Bib 1. Refer to Diagram A to pin Bib Front – Top (Fabric A) and Bib Front – Bottom (Fabric B) RST. Sew and press seam open (Dia. A). Sewn Bib Front should measure 11" x 14 ½".

2. Center and pin the rick rack over the seam. Sew down the center of rick rack (Dia. B).

3. Position the bib template on the Bib Front with the dotted line centered over the rick rack; trace and cut out (Dia. C). 4. Trace the letters on page 4 onto the paper side of the fusible web. Follow manufacturer’s directions to fuse the letters to the wrong side of Fabric C (2 ½" x 6 ½"). Cut out along traced lines and remove paper backing. 5. Refer to the photo to arrange the letters on the right side of the Bib Front above the rick rack or place as desired. Fuse and sew around letters with a zig zag or decorative stitch to secure. Optional: Follow manufacturer’s directions to use tear-away stabilizer under appliqué. 6. Trace template on Bib Back (Fabric C) and cut out. 7. Place Bib Front and Back RST; pin. Sew ¼" around outside edges leaving a 3" opening for turning; clip curves and trim corners. 8. Turn right side out; press. Hand stitch opening closed. Topstitch ¼" from edge.
Finishing the Bib 9. Pin loop (soft) side of hook and loop tape to the back side of the left neck tab; stitch around edges. Pin hook (rough) side to the front of the right neck tab. Check that they line up and stitch around edges.
Finished Care Instructions Machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Tumble dry low or hang to dry.
