Think back through the last 24 hours and break down how you spent your time into the following categories: Sleeping ________ Eating _______ Driving _______ Work _______ Scripture Reading/Prayer ________ Social Media ________ Talking/texting on your phone _______ Watching TV ________ Parenting _______ Other ________ 2. Is this a fairly typical day? If so, are there any areas of concern that may represent potential “idols” in your life? 3. We have some biblical examples of “graven images” (i.e. the golden calf from Ex. 32, Ps. 135:15-17). What are some modern-day idols? 4. The first Commandment deals with who we are to worship. The second deals with how we are to worship Him. Read John 4:23-24. What does worshiping “in spirit and in truth” look like? 5. Read Romans 1:18-27. What were the consequences of idolatry according to Paul? What about King David (Ps. 135:18)? 6. Restate this Commandment positively as “Freedom #2”. 7. What change(s) will you make this week to pursue Godly worship? Read Ezekiel 36:25-27 and discuss what it means for the Lord to “cause you to walk in my statutes…” Prayer Focus Pray Psalm 115 together as a group.
