IMPORTANT MEET REMINDERS The week before the meet – Complete the online RSVP if you WILL BE attending the upcoming meet AND/OR notify us if you have to leave early, by Tuesday evening. If you find out after Tuesday that you will not attend the meet, please let us know by emailing
[email protected] by Thursday at 6pm. After that you will need to contact a friend so this can be communicated to the computer person. It helps us on Saturday morning when we know who is definitely not coming to the meet. The night before the meet – eat a good dinner, get all your gear together (caps, goggles, towels (2‐3 in case they don’t dry out!), etc.), and get a good night’s sleep. Make sure to know exactly where you’re going the next morning. On the day of the meet – For swimmers, check in on time and attend WARM UPs! It is very important we know who is at the meet and that they are ready to swim. Warm‐ups are mandatory and are an important part of a successful swimmer’s program. Please get your child to the swim meet ON TIME! On the day of the meet – For parents, don’t forget to sign in with your Team Coordinators so you can sign up for a shift and we can keep track of your hours. During the meet – do you need to leave early? Please tell the Coach’s rep, Misti, or tell your child’s herder! If your child is 10 or under, please have them stay with their herder during the meet or tell the herder where they are. Your child will be scratched from an event if they are not at the ready benches on time!
VOLUNTEER DEPOSITS Please be sure that you have submitted your volunteer deposit and final payment in order to be able to participate in Time Trials. CHECK YOUR FAMILY FOLDERS FOR IMPORTANT INFORMATION

SWIM‐A‐THON Who:
All swimmers
Where:
Concord Bridge Pool
When:
2pm – 3pm: 10 and under 3pm – 4pm: 11 and up
We need parent volunteers to count laps. Attached is the Swim‐A‐Thon Form, so you can begin your fundraising efforts. Money will be due 1 week after event, on Wednesday May 17th. This is a team activity that all members are expected to participate at some level (every little bit helps – so you can tell everyone that all their donations to the swim‐a‐thon are Tax deductible). How does it work? You and your kids get others to pledge to give funds based on how many laps the kids swim during the swim a thon or they can pledge just a flat donation. Kids will have a good time swimming for just for the fun of it and families can use this time to help by counting laps. I have seen it done and everyone has a BLAST. Since this is a team fundraiser, if your family chooses to abstain from participation, you are saying that you want to pay a $25 per kid donation to the team. This activity will be fun and the proceeds go for new equipment for the team.
T‐SHIRTS & SWIM CAPS T‐shirts and swim caps will be available for pick up on Picture Day, May 4 starting around 4:45 pm. Please note that the order for the shirts has been placed based on what you ordered at registration. We only ordered enough shirts and swim caps to cover the number of swimmers registered and those that ordered extra. Therefore, if the shirt does not fit, you will have to trade with someone. We apologize for any inconvenience.
CAN’T MAKE TIME TRIALS? If your swimmer cannot make time trials on Saturday, volunteers will be available Thurs – Fri and Mon ‐ Tues from 6 to 6:30 PM. If a swimmer does not have official times recorded by Wednesday, May 10, he/she will not be able to compete at Meet #1.
WANTED
WANTED: Parents NOT to coach children during practice – the coaches should coach and the parents should parent. Your coaching of the swimmers during practice is VERY distracting and problematic. Please DON’T coach kids during practice.
WANTED: An equipment manager. If you own a truck and are VERY punctual, you are perfect. PLEASE volunteer.
WANTED: Parents bring your swimmer to their swim practice according to their corresponding time slot. If there is a special reason you cannot bring your child during that time, you need to get coach’s approval FIRST. Do not take it upon yourself to change. If you have already made arrangements with coach, please disregard.
WANTED: Head concessions organizer. – This position is vital to the team. If you feel you can help in any way, please let us know.
WANTED: A coordinator for social events. We want to have Pep

rallies, but this will be parent run. PLEASE volunteer.

Other FUNDRAISING Did you know that registration fees do not cover all the costs the team incurs to run the team? In order to keep fees down we need to raise money by other methods, such as sponsors, fundraisers, and donations. Do you have a KROGER card? If you link the team to your Kroger card, you can help the team raise money. Look at the Fundraising tab on the website and follow the easy instructions. Please join us May 7th at Buffalo Wild Wings, dine in or carry out. Look for the vouchers in your family folder as well as on our website.
BUFFALO WILD WINGS DAY Sunday, May 7th is CBST Dolphins day at Buffalo Wild Wings on Hwy 6. We will be distributing a coupon to present and the team will get 20% of the pre‐tax sale (this includes adult beverages). Invite friends or family, or simply give them a copy of the coupon for them to use on Sunday. The Northwest Aquatic League (NWAL) sanctions the Concord Bridge Swim Team. NWAL can be found at www.nwal.org. There is a lot of information on the website about training for officials, invitational meets, rules, etc. Check it out!
