Job Title: Donor Relations Coordinator Reports to: Public Relations Manager Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position Summary: The Donor Relations Coordinator is responsible for complementing and supporting the development operations of Louisville Rescue Mission and Southern Indiana Rescue Mission. Working in tandem with the Public Relations Manager and Executive Director, this position is instrumental in carrying the message of the ministry to the broader community, especially individual donors and grantors. The Donor Relations Coordinator will serve as the primary relationship manager for development functions as well as the sole grant writer and gift administrator. Primary Job Functions and Responsibilities: Donor Cultivation (50%) • Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with a portfolio of 200 annual donors and 35 monthly donors with the goal of connecting donors more personally and intentionally with the life of the ministry. • Work with Public Relations Manager and Executive Director to plan the cultivation and stewardship of donors through regular phone calls, handwritten notes, and face-to-face meetings. • Provide Public Relations Manager and Executive Director with appropriate plans of action, implementation, evaluation, and progress reports with regard to facilitating major gifts. • Coordinate logistics, invitations, event-day operations, and post-event follow-up for annual Partner Appreciation Celebration. Grant Management (30%) • Identify, research/qualify, apply for, and administer grants from independent, family, and corporate foundations. • Work with various staff members to determine and prioritize funding needs. • Work with Accounting Manager to ensure grant funds are properly accounted for and reported on to grantors. Gift Administration (15% Jan-Sep; 50% Oct-Dec) • Manage and maintain the donor and volunteer database (Virtuous CRM) to ensure information remains accurate, complete, and confidential at all times. Continually seek to improve data quality. • Oversee the logging, depositing, and filing of all monetary gifts with integrity, accountability, and proper checks and balances. Enter all monetary and in-kind gifts into Virtuous and generate weekly acknowledgement letters from the Executive Director. • Provide regular reports to the Public Relations Manager and Executive Director detailing progress toward development goals, for possible distribution to the board of directors, donors, community, etc. Misc. Responsibilities (5%) • Support the Public Relations Manager as needed with respect to other development, volunteer management, and marketing/communications operations. Complete other duties as assigned through appropriate channels of supervision. • Maintain regular, effective communication with the Public Relations Manager and Executive Director, ensuring the mission and vision of LRM is appropriately communicated, preserved, and executed. • Protect the organization brand by representing the ministry through professional appearance and communication.

Job Requirements: • Demonstrated commitment to the mission and vision of the ministry, including the philosophy of ministry, statements of faith, and core values • Commitment to maintaining high integrity, character, and transparency in accordance with the code of conduct • Superb interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills • Exceptional organizational skills including planning, budgeting, and computer skills • Excellent leadership and management skills and the capacity to inspire volunteers and interns • Knowledge of the principles, philosophies, and techniques necessary to maximize efficiency in this role • Demonstrated ability to: o Analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions o Effectively organize complex tasks and execute a project management plan to completion o Maintain cooperative relations with community groups and other public and private agencies o Speak effectively and provide clear, concise written reports Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required, or equivalent experience • Successful experience in a similar development, sales, or relationship management role • Relevant work experience within a nonprofit or Christian ministry setting, ideally serving the poor Language Skills: • Ability to write reports and business correspondence • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret various publications • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from large groups including prospective donors, congregations, and local officials Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
