The Pear trees at the S/E corner of Touhy and Sacramento are now beginning to bloom. Birkas Hailanos may now be said on these trees or other flowering fruit trees. To make this bracha you must see the flower (petals) of a fruit tree. The bracha can be said anytime in the spring but it is preferred to say it during Nissan the first time a flowering fruit tree is seen. The bracha recited is: בָּ רּוְך אַ ָּתה ה' אֱ ֹלקינּו ֶמלֶ ְך הָּ עֹולָּ ם ֶשל ֹא ִחסַ ר בָּ עֹולָּ מֹו כְ לּום ּובָּ ָּרא בֹו ְב ִריֹות טֹובֹות ו ְִאילָּ נֹות טֹובֹות ְל ַהנֹות בָּ הֶ ם ְבנֵי אָּ ָּדם “Blessed are you Hashem, King of the world, who has nothing lacking in His world, and has created good creations and good trees for mankind to derive pleasure from.”
The shul is once again learning Tanach between Pesach and Shavuos. Cards are available from Rabbi Cohen.
As suggested in the Rov’s Shabbos Hagadol Drasha a group of people learning Maharal is being formed. If you are interested please speak to Rabbi Milluchick.
Pre-donations for Yizkor can be called into the office or submitted online at www.adasyeshurun.com/yizkor
