Messes Do Happen Ruth 1:1-5 God is working through my mess to accomplish His unlikely best. Messes do happen. (Ruth 1:1-5)
Israel is a chaotic, morally corrupt land experiencing a severe famine. (Ruth 1:1a; cf. Judges 21:25)
Elimelech left Israel with his entire family and settled in Moab where he died leaving his wife, Naomi, alone with their two sons. (Ruth 1:1b-3)
Naomi’s two sons, Mahlon and Kilion, married two Moabite women, Orpah and Ruth. (Ruth 1:4)
Naomi’s two sons died leaving her all alone. (Ruth 1:5)
God can do the unlikely with my mess.
