Envision: The Great Commitment Over a half‐century ago, 22,000 acres just south of Orlando, Florida was a swamp where alligators outnumbered people. Porous limestone underlay the vegetal muck. It was land no one wanted un l November 22, 1963 when a chartered airplane flew over this huge expanse of muck and mire and a man named Walt Disney pointed to it and said only two words: “That’s it”— and now that region has been transformed into what the en re planet knows as “Disney World” because of what Walt Disney envisioned. It’s a lesson that vision can capture the imagina on. This month I am asking you to envision a church that is laser focused on leading people to love God, serve others and share Jesus. The first part of that vision known as the Great Commandment—love God. The second part is the Great Commitment which is to serve others.

Success and greatness in the kingdom of God are far different than what it is on planet earth. In the kingdom of God there is no easy elevator to the top. To get to the top in God’s eyes you’ve got to take the stairs of service.

The secret to greatness in the kingdom of God is not how many servants you have, but what kind of a servant you are.
Deacons are scheduled to be on-call for special visitation and other ministry needs that may arise during the week.
