A kite shape is one third of an equilateral triangle. If you were to put 3 together aligning the short edges you would end up with an equilateral triangle. Put 6 together along the long edges and you have a hexagon. The size is named for the size of hexagon it would make when pieced. A 2 1/2” kite measures: 1 1/4” x 1 1/4” x 2 3 16” x 2 3/16”
Follow the instructions in ‘General Piecing for Perpetually Hexie’ to sew the background triangles together in preparation for appliquéing the hexie wreath plus the extra shapes. Alternate Colorway Moda fabric blocks by Linda King
