Sow in February-March in trays of good seed compost. Cover lightly and germinate 15-20°C (60-68°F). Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle, harden off and plant out in May. Alternatively, sow outdoors in March or April in their final flowering position or in June-July in a seedbed. Keep soil lightly moist and thin out or transplant as necessary to about 15cm (6") apart. Note that flowers can be used in salads.
