How to grow: Sow the seeds into a tray of moist, firm, quality compost, pressing them gently into the surface. Place in a polythene bag to conserve moisture. Place in a cool, dark place 7°C (45°F) until germination occurs. At the first sign of germination (21-42 days), remove the bag and maintain a temperature of 15°C (60°F). Grow on in good light keeping the compost moist. Transplant the seedlings, when large Native to Delphinium zalil Siberia Not all delphiniums are blue! Originating from Siberia, this rare species produces yellow flowering spikes in the late spring and summer following sowing. It is a short-lived perennial and looks great in a vase indoors as well as at the back of the border, so make sure you grow enough for cutting. The flowers were once used to dye silk.
