Sushi
Sushi is high in protein, low in calories and positively habit forming. In the simplest of explanations, Sushi is a combination of fresh fish or vegetables with gently vinegared rice. The word “sushi” refers to the rice, not the fresh seafood topping. There are more than 200 types. but not all sushi is necessarily made with seafood – a vegetable combination is also a delightful delicacy! the ingredients are prepared in ways that allow their natural flavors to fully emerge.
Saké Our Story There was a time, not so long ago when sushi and traditional Japanese cuisine was a rarity in the heart of Minneapolis. Now we have a host of fine Japanese and sushi restaurants all over, but not south of the river. After years of traveling north to get fine Japanese dining experience KAMI’S co-owners discovered they were not alone in their journey. The love of sushi and fine Japanese cuisine motivated them to open up a restaurant to share their passion with you, their neighbors. The word KAMI has multiple meanings in Japanese. It means delicious taste, taking something into consideration, protection, superior, and emperor. The co-owners took into consideration naming the restaurant something that would truly resonate with their commitment to protecting their culinary traditions of delicious food and superior service, thus elevating their guests’ experience liken to emperors. It wasn’t a coincidence that the name KAMI appeared, it was fate.
Sushi Tips
Creating Sushi is an art, but eating it is fun! 1) Simply pick up the piece of sushi Japanese Rice Wine. Sip your saké hot, as is, or in a martini. 2) Turn it over and dip the topping Kampai (cheers) (not the rice) in the small dish of soy sauce that’s provided 3) Pop the whole piece in your mouth Japanese style! To complement your sushi, we’ll keep your teacup (chopsticks) filled with flavorful green tea, but saki (japanese The traditional dining tool of the Orient.
