Camp Highlights: ***Personal Instruction from Derrick Williams and his highly qualified staff. Coaches will consist of Derrick’s personal NBA trainers, former teammates, and other collegiate basketball players. ***Developmentally appropriate training for all players. Players will be divided by age, and pushed to become a better all-around player. Fundamental skills, as well as advanced offensive attack moves will be thoroughly covered. ***Individual and team competitions. This is a chance for you to put what you just learned into live, game-situations. ***Autograph and photo session. Every camper will have a chance to get Derrick’s autograph, as well as a photo with him. ***Question and Answer session: Find out what it takes to get to the NBA, how hard he works, and what some of his favorite basketball moments are. ***Free NIKE camp shirt, and other great giveaways from Sole Collector, Nike, and VII Grand!!! ***“LITTLE DRIBBLER” CAMP FOR YOUNG “HOOPERS” AGES 5-8. Derrick Williams Bio: Coming out of La Mirada High School Derrick burst onto the college scene at the University of Arizona, capturing Pac-10 Freshmen of the Year honors as well as multiple Freshmen AllAmerican awards. His Sophomore campaign was even more impressive as he led Arizona to an Elite 8 appearance. Derrick averaged 19.5 points per game, was named the Pac-10 Player of the Year, and received All-American recognition from multiple media outlets, as well as being named a Finalist for the prestigious John Wooden Award. Derrick declared for the NBA draft shortly after the season and became the 2nd overall selection, to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In November 2013, he was traded to the Sacramento Kings, and will be entering his 2nd season in Sacramento this fall. Derrick is the ultimate example of hard work paying off as he has constantly been underrated throughout his career. This hard work will be the trademark for his camp, and present in his hand-picked camp staff.
The Different Camps: Full Day (9am-2pm) Cost—-$200 This camp is for boys and girls ages 9-18. The camp will be a balance of fundamental skill development, new advanced skills teaching, and daily competitions that allow you to practice, and perfect, the skills you just worked on. Campers will be divided by age, ability, and gender in an attempt to get you the most out of every drill and repetition. Derrick will personally teach some of the techniques that helped him become one of the most versatile and explosive players in the NBA. “Little Dribblers” (9am-Noon)—$100 This camp is for boys and girls ages 5-8. The “Little Dribblers” Camp will
focus on the fundamentals of basketball in a fun atmosphere! Campers will have the chance to work with Derrick and his staff on dribbling, shooting, footwork, and offensive attack moves that will help build a foundation for personal and team success. Daily competitions will allow campers to compete against themselves and each other in an attempt to build a love for the game of basketball! SPACE IS LIMITED FOR BOTH CAMPS.
