How To Register … There are three (3) ways to register for Ag Literacy Week. Complete the registra on forms in this brochure and mail to our office with your check, if applicable. ~OR~ Visit www.genesee.shu erfly.com to pay online with a credit card. Mail forms to our office or e‐mail to Barb Sturm. ~OR~ Stop by the Extension office in Batavia to register and pay by cash or check. Checks can be made payable to Cornell Coopera ve Extension Genesee County.
Weaving the Rainbow Wri en by : George Ella Lyon Illustrated by : Stephanie Anderson
Weaving the Rainbow is a beau fully blended story of agriculture and art. A young woman raises sheep, shears them for their wool, cleans and cards the wool, spins and dyes the wool, ul mately using it to create beau ful works of woven art from the fiber. The story will help students begin to make the connec on between agriculture and its many uses and influences.
In celebra on of Na onal Agriculture Week (March 16‐20), volunteers throughout the state will read a book with an agricultural theme to second graders. Students and teachers will also benefit from hands‐on lessons and receive follow up ac vi es. The book will be given to the school library with a bookplate recognizing the donor and NY Ag Literacy Week. 1,400 books were donated last year while thousands of second graders par cipated in fun and educa onal ac vi es.
