• Graduate transfer Kadi Kullerkann joins the Panthers after playing four years at the University of Houston, where she received AVCA All-America Honorable Mention accolades and broke an American Athletic Conference record with 37 kills in a match.
• Pitt will also be helped by a talented class of incoming freshman which includes Hanna Markewycz, Adeline Ellis, Kamalani Akeo, Madi Maisel, Ellie Watkins, and Stephanie Williams compose the group that received highest honorable mention accolades by PrepVolleyball.com. • The Panthers return their top kills leader in Maria Genitsaridi, who will be just a junior in 2015.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS • Grand Canyon enters its third season in the Western Athletic Conference and as an NCAA Division I school. In just its second year, the Antelopes finished 21-11 overall and 6-8 in the WAC. The squad returns nine players from last season and has added seven newcomers to its roster. Sophomore standout and 2014 WAC freshman of the year Natalie Tardy will be the Antelope’s top returner following an impressive freshman campaign. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native registered a team second-best 427 kills and posted 3.44 kills per set. She was recently named to the preseason All-WAC team.
• Tulsa enters the 2015 season after earning a 22-9 overall record in 2014 and an American Athletic Conference record of 14-6. The Hurricanes finished the AAC in fourth place and ended the season winning 14 of their 16 matches. Preseason All-AAC selection Erica Bohannon returns to lead the Hurricanes in 2015. The junior was second in the AAC in kills with 472. Bohannon sat behind Pitt transfer and former University of Houston volleyball player, Kadi Kullerkann who racked up an impressive 644 kills in 2014.
• The No. 5 Nebraska Cornhuskers enter the 2015 season following an impressive Elite Eight run last season. The squad finished 2014 with a 23-10 overall record and a 14-6, fourth place finish in the Big Ten conference. Nebraska advanced to last year’s regional final but was upset, 3-0, by BYU. The Huskers have been in four regional finals since its last semifinals appearance in 2008 but has been unable to advance each time. The Cornhuskers return all but one starter from the 2014 squad, including two-time All-American Kadie Rolfzen and All-Big Ten selection Kelsey Fien. Nebraska’s incoming class was ranked as one of the top in the nation.
