Coach Olszewski was named the 21st head coach in school history in December 2012, and will begin his eighth season as a collegiate head coach in 2015. His 2014 Viking team went 6-5 and posted the first winning season since 2011. Prior to Augustana, Olszewski compiled a 32-18 record as the head coach at St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN where he spent five seasons.

Also serving as quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator, the Viking offense exploded in just his second year at the helm. Augustana set a single season record with 5,124 yards of total offense in 2014.

Jerry Olszewski Head Coach

Prior to his appointment at St. Olaf, Olszewski was the defensive coordinator at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point for two seasons (2006-08). He served two different terms on staff at Minnesota State-Mankato (1993-97 and 19992002). He was the Offensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coordinator for a season with the Green Bay Indoor Football League team that won the Gold Cup in 1998-99 season, and served one year as defensive line coach at California Lutheran University (1997-98). Away from coaching, Olszewski was the athletic director and dean of students for the Little Chute (Wisconsin) School District (1998-99), and the Chief Executive Officer at the Mankato Family YMCA (2002-2006). Olszewski was an all-conference defensive back in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (1990) when he led the league in interceptions. He earned his bachelor degree from Wisconsin-Stevens Point (1993) and a master’s degree from Minnesota State, Mankato (1995). An active member of the Fellowship of Christian athletes for more than 20 years, Coach Olszewski has presented at hundreds of events in the ministry. Coach O, has also served on church board, church youth leader, YMCA volunteer, school mentor for local elementary schools and Habitat for Humanity volunteer. He and his wife Deana, are the parents of one son Jett, and two daughters, Jersey and JJ. 014000-00078 03/15

Camp will utilize both KO Stadium on Augustana College’s campus (37th and Lake Ave) and the SD Junior Football Fields (2210 W. Pentagon Pl.)”
